Standing at approximately 49 inches tall, it is crafted from an ash wood handle, adorned with bamboo and broom grass. The design features a picture jasper stone flanked by two skull pendants, with an angel pendant created from beads. Above the jasper stone is a golden pentacle, and below it, a peacock eye feather adds a unique touch.
The ash wood handle imbues the besom (ritual broom) with strong protective and cosmic properties. Traditionally, ash is used for the central staff as it connects the physical and spiritual realms.
Core Spiritual Traits of Ash
- World Tree Connection: Represents Yggdrasil or the Axis Mundi, serving as a bridge between gods, humans, and the afterlife.
- Deep Protection: Shields against negative sorcery, malicious spirits, and fae mischief.
- Healing and Harmony: Fosters inner strength, emotional balance, and alignment with the environment.
- Solar and Will Energy: Linked to the sun and focused intent, making it ideal for active magic.
Incorporating a peacock eye feather into a besom (witch’s broom) merges the protective, sweeping energy of the broom with the all-seeing, apotropaic symbolism of the feather. This transforms an ordinary ritual tool into a powerful instrument for psychic defense, vigilance, and clearing negative energies.
Core Symbolism of the Peacock Eye Feather on a Besom
- The Watchful Eye: The "eye" on the feather serves as an all-seeing guardian, vigilant against negativity, psychic attacks, or ill intent before they can enter the space.
- Apotropaic Sweep: Sweeping with a feather-adorned besom physically and energetically brushes away stagnant vibrations while the "eye" simultaneously guards the threshold.
- Third Eye Connection: It boosts the user's intuition, inner vision, and psychic awareness during ritual cleansing or altar work.
